1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Lume collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use our application or website. By using Lume, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

• Personal information provided during registration (name, email, phone number)
• Booking information such as service type, date, and location
• Payment details processed through secure payment gateways
• Device and usage data such as IP address, browser type, and interaction patterns
• Photographs you choose to upload when you use the AI Image Styling feature, which may include images of your face. See section 5.

You can browse Lume without creating an account. Registration is only required for account-based features such as booking, cart, checkout, messaging and AI Image Styling.

3. How We Use Your Information

• Process and confirm bookings
• Improve app performance and user experience
• Send booking notifications, support messages, and optional promotional offers
• Verify payments and prevent fraudulent activities
• Generate styled images when you use AI Image Styling

4. Information Sharing

Lume does not sell or rent your personal data. Information may be shared in the following circumstances:

• With service providers (photographers, studios, models) to fulfill your bookings
• With trusted partners for payment processing and analytics
• With Google, which processes photographs you submit to AI Image Styling (see section 5)
• When required by UAE law or by competent authorities

5. AI Image Styling and Photographs

Lume offers an optional feature called AI Image Styling, which restyles a photograph you choose — for example changing an outfit or applying a photographic filter. This section explains exactly how those photographs are handled.

What we collect. Only the single photograph you select for each request, taken with your camera or chosen from your photo library. Lume never accesses your camera or photo library in the background, and no photograph is used unless you explicitly select it for that request. The photograph may contain your face or the face of another person shown in it.

We do not use biometrics. Lume does not perform face recognition, face matching, face detection or identity verification. We do not create, derive or store any faceprint, facial template or other biometric identifier, and we never use photographs to identify you. Your photograph is treated only as an image.

Who processes it. Your photograph is uploaded to Lume's servers and sent to Google for processing using the Gemini image model, which generates the styled image and returns it to us. Google is the only third party that receives the photograph. Lume uses Google's paid API service, under which Google does not use submitted content to train or improve its models. Your photograph is never sold, never shared with advertisers, and never shared with any other third party.

How long we keep it. Your original photograph and the generated image are stored on Lume's servers and are automatically deleted after 10 days. If you delete your Lume account, all photographs you submitted and all images generated from them are deleted immediately.

Your choice. Before your first photograph is uploaded, the app asks for your explicit consent and explains what is sent and who receives it. Nothing is uploaded unless you agree, and you may decline and continue using the rest of the app normally.

6. Data Security

We store your data on encrypted servers and apply industry-standard security protocols to protect against unauthorized access. However, no system is 100% secure, and users share data at their own risk.

7. Cookies & Tracking

Lume may use cookies or similar technologies to improve performance and analyze usage. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not function properly.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access and review your personal information
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Delete your account and personal data at any time (see section 9)
• Opt out of marketing communications

9. Deleting Your Account

You can permanently delete your Lume account at any time from within the app, at Account → Delete Account. No phone call, email or support request is required.

When you delete your account we permanently erase your name, email address, phone number, password, date of birth and profile photo, and we delete your saved addresses, your cart, and every photograph and AI-generated image associated with your account. Reviews you have written are anonymised so that vendor ratings remain accurate but are no longer linked to you. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone, and the account cannot be recovered or signed in to again.

Records of completed bookings and payments may be retained in anonymised form where we are required to keep them for legal, tax or accounting purposes.

10. Children's Privacy

Lume's services are not directed toward children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

11. Third-Party Links

Lume may contain links to external websites or apps. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage users to review their privacy policies before sharing data.

12. Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted within the app and on the Lume website.
